Announcement Meaning
Announcement is an official notification about something, whether written or spoken which presented to public.

Social Function of Announcement Text
Social function of announcement text is to make a formal written notice of certain events which has happened or going to happen.
(Fungsi sosial dari announcement text adalah untuk memberikan informasi resmi secara tertulis tentang kegiatan yang terjadi atau akan terjadi)
Structure of Announcement Text
The structure of announcement text is:

Opening usually contain purpose or the name of event.
(Opening biasanya berisikan tujuan atau nama dari kegiatan)
Content usually contain day, date, time and place of event. Can also have additional explanation if needed.
(Konten biasanya berisikan hari, tanggal, waktu dan tempat kegiatan. Dapat pula berisikan tambahan informasi apabila dibutuhkan)
Closing usually contain contact person.
(Closing biasanya berisikan contact person atau nomor yang dapat dihubungi)

The characteristic of good announcement text include inform that tells what, when, where and how, also at the end of announcement there should be a strong call to action.
