Kind of Transportation
Do you know there are two kind of transportation that will be learned in this book?
(Tahukah kalian bahwa ada dua jenis transportasi yang akan dipelajari di buku ini?)
First, public transportation. Such as: buses, trains, ojeks, and angkots.
(Pertama, transportasi umum. Seperti bus, kereta, ojek dan angkot)
Then, traditional transportation. Such as: becaks and andongs.
(Kemudian, transportasi tradisional. Seperti becak dan delman)
Differences Between There is and There are
Well, actually in this chapter we are going to learn about differences between there is and there are.
(Sebenarnya pada bab ini kita akan mempelajari tentang perbedaan antara “there is” dan “there are”)
This quite easy and simple to notice the differences.
(Sangat mudah dan gampang untuk memahami perbedaanya)
Firstly we need to remember that: we use “there” to point out object that far from us.
(Pertama-tama kita harus ingat bahwa : kita menggunakan “there” untuk menunjuk sebuah objek yang jauh dari kita)
Then we use “is” only when the noun is singular.
(Kemudian kita gunakan “is” hanya ketika benda tersebut hanya satu)
Otherwise we use “are” when the noun is plural.
(Sebaliknya kita gunakan “are” ketika benda tersebut jamak atau lebih dari satu)
So, we can conclude that we use “there is” when the object far from us and only one.
(Jadi, kita bisa simpulkan kita menggunakan “there is” ketika objeknya jauh dari kita dan hanya satu)
In other hand we use “there are” when the object far from us and more than one.
(Kita gunakan “there are” ketika objeknya jauh dari kita dan lebih dari satu)
Example :
- There is one cat.
- There are two cars.
